Our Story

Happy Pharms is a family-operated, veteran-founded hemp company established in Bell, Florida. Our foundation is built on responsible agriculture, transparency, education, and a commitment to serving our customers and community.

2018 — Our Agricultural Roots

After medically retiring from the United States Air Force, Joseph Remy returned to his hometown of Bell, Florida. Our family began growing peppers while developing the agricultural knowledge that would eventually lead us into hemp cultivation.

2021 — Happy Pharms Begins

Our small growing operation transitioned into a licensed hemp farm. We began developing responsibly produced hemp products while personally managing cultivation, production, packaging, compliance, customer service, website operations, and sales.

2022–2023 — From Local Markets to Nationwide Reach

Local farmers markets became the foundation of our business. They allowed us to educate customers, explain laboratory results, listen to their experiences, and build lasting relationships.

Happy Pharms eventually completed more than 1,900 orders, reached customers in 40 states, and attracted website visitors from 15 countries. Our community included veterans, teachers, working families, pet owners, and others interested in carefully made hemp products.

2024 — Rebuilding After Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene caused significant damage to our operation. We adjusted, rebuilt, and continued serving our customers despite the financial and physical challenges the storm created.

2026 — Pet Paws

We introduced Pet Paws, a hemp-derived product line created specifically for dogs. Developed for families seeking natural support for their pets during storms, travel, separation, and other stressful situations, Pet Paws quickly became our most successful product line.

2026 — Federal Restrictions Change Our Direction

In November 2025, Congress enacted changes to the federal definition of hemp that are scheduled to take effect on November 12, 2026. The law establishes a total-THC standard that includes THCA and excludes final hemp-derived cannabinoid products containing more than 0.4 milligrams of combined total THC per retail container.

Although the law does not ban every form of industrial hemp, the per-container limit effectively removes many naturally derived, full-spectrum products from the legal market—including the products on which Happy Pharms and Pet Paws were built.

These restrictions left us with no realistic path to continue our cannabinoid-product operations in their existing form. We contacted local and state representatives numerous times by telephone and email to explain how the law would affect our small, veteran-founded Florida business. As of this writing, none of those calls or emails has been returned.

The Next Chapter

The end of our cannabinoid-product operations is not the end of Happy Pharms. It marks a transition from selling hemp-derived products to education and advocacy.

Happy Pharms remains committed to sharing what we learned, educating others about hemp and natural wellness, and advocating for the small farmers and businesses affected by changing regulations.
